A restoration project for a traditional Kyoto townhouse built in the Taisho era. While preserving the serene atmosphere characteristic of Japanese homes and the beauty of its garden, the project integrates an unobtrusive home automation system that harmonizes refined spatial design with modern comfort. In addition to simple lighting scene and skylight‑shade control using brass buttons and levers, the system enables remote management of features such as irrigation scheduling, creating a quietly supportive and comfortable living environment for everyday life. Good Design Award 2024 Winner.
